Last week I found out I passed, so have just received my permanent registration as a Registered Nurse in Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Vanessa Vandewater, RN! What a lot of work and support from my family to get to this point.
I've been working for a few weeks on a casual contract as a Nursing Consultant with the Dept of Health and Social Services, and Friday I just found out that I got a relief nursing job at the hospital, too. I am hoping to balance both, at least until my contract is up, so we'll see how that goes. My supervisors are supportive and want to help me out in any way possible.
Also, I'm 21 weeks pregnant and we just found out we're having a boy! Very exciting. I've posted some pictures, since it's been awhile, although I normally don't post preggy pictures, as I am gaining weight furiously.
Here is the new playground behind our house. Rachel races out there at every opportunity, and I don't worry about her. Sometimes I join her, sometimes I just watch from the window. There are always a ton of kids and/or parents. Love Love Love.
We went to the sand pits today after dinner. Fun! A teen hangout, but lots of room for us to explore. Who knew there was a desert in the north?
The sand was (mostly) beautiful and soft. I want to come back tomorrow and scoop some for a little sand pit of our own. Oops, did I say that out loud? I don't know if we're allowed to take the sand. But I might just put a big Tupperware bin in the back of the truck anyway. And a shovel.
Four wheel drive and new tires made all the difference.
Requisite side-view pregnant photo. 21 weeks.
On our way back we stopped at The Sign to get Rachel her own Yellowknife picture.
